Located just north of Kanab, Utah, along Highway 89, Moqui Cave offers a unique cultural experience inside a natural sandstone cave. Opened as an attraction in 1951 by local resident Garth Chamberlain, it serves as a museum dedicated to preserving regional history and art. The site is divided into distinct sections, allowing visitors to explore a rich collection of artifacts in a naturally cool environment.

The main gallery features an extensive collection of Native American artifacts, including over a thousand arrowheads, pre-Columbian tools, and items crafted from local materials. A significant portion of the exhibit is dedicated to the history of the local community, showcasing the United Order and other historical records that define the area’s heritage. The building also houses a unique collection of fluorescent rocks and minerals, which glow under the blacklights installed in the dark chamber, offering a striking visual contrast to the traditional artifacts.

Visitors can explore the space at their own pace, taking time to appreciate the intricate details of the stone and the historical context provided by the exhibits. The gift shop, located within the facility, offers a selection of Southwestern goods, including turquoise jewelry and traditional crafts, providing a meaningful way to support the site and take a piece of the experience home. The facility is designed to be accessible, with ample parking available for vehicles of all sizes, including larger RVs and buses. Open seasonally, typically from spring through fall, Moqui Cave provides a quiet, informative stop for travelers exploring the scenic routes of southern Utah.
